IB MYP Coordinator

Reporting to the Deputy Principal and working closely with the Heads of Middle and Senior Years and PYP Coordinator, this key curriculum leadership role will develop, coordinate, deliver and refine the IB MYP for the College. About Good News Lutheran College

Good News Lutheran College is situated on 20 acres in Tarneit, approximately 30 kms from the Melbourne CBD and has landscaped gardens, recreational spaces surrounding classrooms and buildings. The College also has a gymnasium, chapel, and sports ovals, along with new and modern facilities for Technologies, Science and Arts.

Good News Lutheran College aims to provide an educational pathway for each student by focusing on strong Christian values. Staff are expected to be engaged and contribute in leading of devotion when asked to serve and specifically lead class devotions in pastoral care on days where students do not attend chapel or assembly.

The College has grown significantly from a small group of 24 students who commenced in 1997, to its first Year 12s graduating at the end of 2016, and the 1000+ students on campus today.

About the Role

The Accountant will be employed on a part-time basis for 4 days a week with an FTE of 0.8 and employed at the E Grade of the Multi Enterprise Agreement 2018 (as varied by the MOU).

The Accountant provides administrative, financial and student welfare/wellbeing support and assistance in relation to office and classroom activities, including but not limited to the following school settings: the office, sick bay, library, and kitchen areas.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant qualifications in Finance and Accounting (CPA or Bachelor’s degree)
  • Commitment to the Christian Ethos of the School
  • Strong Attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Have excellent relationship and communication skills
  • Administration skills including a knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Office
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with teachers and students
  • Ability to perform tasks in one or more of the following areas: office procedures; accounting procedures; sick bay and other tasks as required from time to time

  • Selected applicants will have to undergo background checks, including reference checks and relevant regulatory checks
