Colossians 3:17 says 'Everything you say and everything you do should be done for Jesus your Lord. And in all you do, give thanks to God the Father through Jesus.'
With the new school year upon us this week, it is a good chance for self-reflection and focusing on the future. It is a chance to ask: why we are doing the things we do? Are we living for Jesus? Are our actions those that Jesus would be happy with? Are we being thankful for everything we do? These are deep questions that need to be asked professionally as a college but also personally as members of our community.
I have the privilege to talk to students daily, one of the most important things to them is that they are so thankful for the support and encouragement of family, friends and staff members. Our college tries our hardest to send the message to the community that in all that we do our actions should glorify God, both in the good times and in the bad.
This year has so much excitement around it. As a worship and mission team we are trying to engage the students more in chapels and there will also be live streamed chapels that will also be available to families as well. Our worship and mission leaders have some great plans to encourage and grow God’s word at this college this year and lay foundations for events also.
So my prayer this term for our community is that we all find God’s grace and love in our hearts so we may extend it to all those who we come into contact with. I also pray that we use our words to encourage and understand the amazing effect we can have on each other’s lives. Most importantly though I pray that we live for Jesus, whether that is at work, in our life or even during the tough times.
God bless you all.
