Pathways

Well-resourced Career and Pathways Office, staffed by a trained Careers Practitioner, available year-round to all students.

Students supported in their transitions beyond Secondary school into further study, employment and apprenticeships.

Students complete the Morrisby Report during Year 10. This highly regarded career profiling tool assists students in finding career direction, which supports their VCE learning pathways. Year 10 students also have the opportunity to participate in our optional Work Experience program.

Our students have found placements with Victoria Police, Werribee Zoo, local veterinarians, physiotherapists, schools, law firms, Telstra and banks. During the Secondary Years, students have the opportunity to visit a range of tertiary campuses and liaise with academic representatives.

Students attend the WRICA Careers Expo annually and attend events such as Try a Trade Day and the Avalon Airshow. Guest speakers from the Australian Defence Force and Victoria Police also regularly attend.

GNLC is partnered with a variety of external stakeholders such as the WynBay LLEN, Melbourne University, Deakin University, Victoria University, Victoria Polytechnic and the Gordon TAFE to name a few. Our graduates have secured places in Law, Paramedicine, Engineering, Nursing, Teaching, Psychology, Biomedicine, Forensic Science, Business and Hospitality.

The GNLC Careers Portal is available for students to search for a wide range of resources including but not limited to course and occupation information, interest/skills tests and create their own resumes. We welcome parents, students and caregivers to explore the opportunities via the link below:

Good News Lutheran College acknowledges that our loving Creator God
first gave the land on which we are placed to the peoples of the First Nations, who have walked and cared for this land since before recorded time. We thank God for the land’s Traditional Custodians and pay our respects to Elders as we travel this journey of reconciliation in Australia.
