Careers and Pathways

Located in the Senior Years Building is our well-resourced Career and Pathways Office staffed by a trained Careers Practitioner who is available to all students year round.

Students are thoroughly supported in their transitions beyond secondary school into further study, employment and apprenticeships. Our students complete the Morrisby Report during Year 10.

This highly regarded career profiling tool assists students in finding career direction during their later school years, which supports their VCE learning pathways. Year 10 students also have the opportunity to participate in our optional Work Experience program.

Our students have found placements with Victoria Police, the Werribee Zoo, local veterinarians and physiotherapists, schools, law firms, Telstra and banks. During the Senior years, students have the opportunity to visit a range of tertiary campuses and liaise with academic representatives.

Students attend the WRICA Careers Expo annually and attend events such as Try a Trade day and the Avalon Airshow. Guest speakers from the Australian Defence Force and Victoria Police attend regularly.

GNLC is partnered with a variety of external stakeholders such as the WynBay LLEN, Melbourne University, Deakin University, Victoria University, Victoria Polytechnic and the Gordon TAFE to name a few. Our graduates have secured places in Law, Paramedicine, Engineering, Nursing, Teaching, Psychology, Biomedicine, Forensic Science, Business and Hospitality.

The GNLC Careers website is available for our College community to access at all times where students can search for a wide range of resources including but not limited to course information, different occupations or complete interest / skills tests and create their own resumes. We welcome parents, students and caregivers to explore the opportunities via the link below:
